Fall Conference - 2010
2010 CAEA Fall Conference - Peace, Love & Art
October 14-17, 2o10
Beaver Run Resort, Breckenridge, CO
Peace, Love & Art …
The theme of the conference this year is “Peace, Love and Art”. The workshops will be based on the theme of the sixties, utilizing art movements such as Op Art, Pop Art, Psychedelic Graphics, Earthworks and Kinetic Art to name just a few. Artist such as Judy Chicago, M. C. Escher, Andy Warhol, Miriam Schapiro, Jackson Pollock, Peter Max, Louise Nevelson, Roy Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns, Helen Frankenthaler among many others will be explored in workshops.
This Sixties Art lens pays homage to graphic and fine artists of the 1960s - their work and their legacy with continuing influence on pop culture. This year there will be a keynote speaker each evening of the conference. Thursday will be Katherine Josten of Global Art Project for Peace, Friday’s speaker will be Emmy nominated Art Attack with Art Historian Lee Sandstead and on Saturday Wes Wilson an American artist and one of the leading designers of psychedelic posters will speak.
